The New Deviantart Logo

I don't really like the new logo, as do many others it seems. I know they aren't going to change it, since they went through all the trouble of writing that intensively long essay as to why we SHOULD like it, despite the design not faring well with many of us (since it doesn't make sense and strays from the original purpose of the site being about community, and where "art meets application").   

Instead the new logo looks nothing like it has to do with the words "Deviant" or "Art". And the newest slogan is even worse as seen in the journal Boldly Facing The Future, asking us to "Breed & Bleed" going on to state in the essay that our world is a prolific orgy???   

What the...?

I thought art was supposed to come from the heart, or having meaning dear to us. Are they telling us we should all have lots of sex and stab each other while we're at it?

I say this jokingly of course, but still...you'd think they'd take the more sensible design over that inequality sign. And that's what it REALLY is, an inequality sign...

Despite this, the staff isn't taking our dislike seriously. They keep giving many of us the run-around/or just downright ignoring how many of us feel. What's worse is, they're getting already famous artists to pitch the new design in exchange for more exposure (again ignoring the massive amount of us that favor a better design). 

Regardless, the staff continues to ignore the people, or even name-calling us outright like 'Moving Brands' did, as noted by the Deviant: iAmCloudSky and their journal listed here: What our voices mean in this community. *Update (which was unfortunately REMOVED by the staff).

There's also that whole issue with Deviantart not checking beforehand that the logo was already owned by platzkart.ru/, a European Graphic Design Group. (o.0)

All I see is irony and hypocrisy everywhere. Makes me really sad. If they continue to treat the community poorly/ignore HUGE problems, they're going to lose many great artists along the way, and it's really too bad because it's the millions of people all over the world that help keep this website alive, not just the staff. 

*The other logo (the all-green one) was the original design they were going to use before they chose the black one, if you read the 'Future' article you'll see this general design having been one of the main designs/it's also on YouTube:  m.youtube.com/watch?v=gg77AHDE…. The Deviant aNIGHTLYpony made a color variation of the better designs changing it a little that you'd want to check out: anightlypony.deviantart.com/ar….

I re-posted the original journal above titled, "Bodly Facing The Future" that spyed removed then re-uploaded after deleting massive amounts of comments because of the public backlash. There USED to be well-over 1000+ pages. Now the count is around 800. Don't be surprised if you see the pages changing numbers, the staff has been deleting them. :0

*LAST UPDATE: They are not going to change the logo or address people's preference for a better-designed one unfortunately. Regardless, as an artist I choose to stay here for the good people, not for the staff and the way they brush many problems under the rug (not just rebranding without involving the community, but things like plagiarism, art-theft, and explicit pornography).

Power to the people. We are one voice, one community.
